The official release of Thunderbolt 3 Module has driven the rapid development of Thunderbolt 3 docking market, saving the time and cost of design, R&D, testing, and certification for the majority of development manufacturers, allowing Thunderbolt 3 docking technology to spread rapidly and up to 40Gbps transfer rate is no longer a dream.
No Thunderbolt port EV testing is required for any I/O board using this module, only Thunderbolt FV, Power Delivery and residual I/O port testing. Estimated savings of ~70% in product development effort, certification test time and cost.
Two Thunderbolt 3 ports, Port A and Port B, are configured on the Module.
Port A connectivity for Thunderbolt 3-enabled Macs allows you to power your Mac with a single cable and bring up to 40 Gbps of high-speed data transfer.
Port B supports 40 Gbps high-speed data transfer and can daisy-chain up to six other Thunderbolt 3 devices to laptops and expand the number of arrays. It can also connect to other iPhone, iPad or USB Type C HUB devices and provide 15W power supply. External graphics cards and matrix hard drives can also be connected.
